HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital


The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi is recognized and celebrated on October 4 annually.

Just in time for those Halloween parties, learn the moves to Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller.” This dance is the latest free exercise class that HSHS Good Shepherd and the Shelby County Senior Center are sponsoring.

 


With students back in school and fall sports beginning, there can be external or self-imposed pressures on student athletes to continually perform better. There are many factors that can influence young athletes to improve their athletic performance, including steroid use that happens from time to time in professional sports. 

Abbie Pancoast Vollmar celebrated her 40th birthday on May 1, 2017. Normally, that would be a mile marker for anyone, but not that big of a deal. For Vollmar, this milestone is much more significant because she has cystic fibrosis (CF).

On Wednesday, September 6, Executive Director of Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach Georgia Winson presented her program to the colleagues of HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital. Mission Outreach collects unused supplies and equipment from 67 hospitals and 18 health clinics in four states.

HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital is holding a 12-hour prayer vigil for those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. The vigil will be on Tuesday, September 12 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Chapel, located on the first floor just inside of the east entrance.
