HSHS Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Services Volunteers at the Shelby County Animal Control and Care Center

At HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, our colleagues carry the torch for the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis. Each month, a department is chosen to complete a “mission possible” that encompasses our mission and core values.

The Good Shepherd mission team declared 2020 as the year of service.  All departments are asked to focus on helping the community and their peers.

Colleagues from rehabilitation services accepted the task for January. They chose to volunteer at the Shelby County Animal Control and Care Center. The colleagues volunteered on two separate days. They took the animals for walks, gave lots of hugs and spent much of their time playing.

Jennifer Howe, speech therapist, fell in love during her volunteering hours and now Nallie, pictured with Jennifer, has become a part of the Howe family.

For more information on how to volunteer or to adopt please call, 217-774-4932.
