HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital to Hold 12-Hour Prayer Vigil

HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital is holding a 12-hour prayer vigil for those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. The vigil will be on Tuesday, September 12 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Chapel, located on the first floor just inside of the east entrance.

“Given the enormity of grief and suffering these storms have produced and are causing, we were moved to hold this prayer vigil to bring hope to those affected,” said Tonya Bowrey, co-mission leader for HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital. “We are finding everyone knows someone who has been or will be touched by these disasters.”

Bowrey said, “We are hoping for a marathon of grace for our southern neighbors. We are hoping someone will be present in prayer throughout our entire vigil. We will also include a special prayer chain request list on which you may add your friends, family or loved ones in the storm’s path, and you may choose to share your name or keep the request anonymous.”

This event is designed for all faiths. The HSHS Good Shepherd Chapel is all inclusive no matter your walk of faith.
