Clinical Informaticist | Full Time | Days


POSITION SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, comprehends and advocates the needs of divisional clinical end users for all implemented health care technology. Acts as a liaison between the Information Services Center (ISC), where system standards are developed, and clinical practice in the local system entities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's degree and 7 years relevant experience required; or bachelor's degree and 4 years relevant experience strongly preferred; or master's degree of higher and 3 years of clinical experience; or master's degree in nursing informatics may be considered instead of clinical experience and licensure.
  • Informatics experience in one or more of the following: CPSI, MEDITECH, Epic, Allscripts, Pyxis, implementation of major vendor Clinical Information System (CIS), project management, workflow redesign, clinical care transformation, and end user education/training. Skill in planning and execution.
  • Licensed in the state of practice - required. Licensed as RN or Medical Technologist. If RN, American Nurse Credentialing Center (AANC) in nursing informatics preferred.

Decatur Ambulance | Patient Accounts Representative | Part-time

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for entering and verifying patient information into a patient billing system.This includes utilizing third party databases to verify and document patient demographic and insurance information, interacting with internal billing staff to complete the billing processes, and interacting with patients and insurance companies on the telephone and in person as needed. All tasks must be performed with close adherence to both hospital/ambulance rules and regulatory compliance.  

Requires the ability to answer financial questions regarding patient accounts, including the collection and processing of payments, obtaining and tracking insurance authorizations, assistance with the reprocessing of ambulance billings denied by insurance companies, and other related duties as assigned.

Decatur Ambulance | Dispatcher | PRN 

POSITION SUMMARY:
Operates an EMS Computer-Aided Dispatching console consisting of a multi-button telephone system, base radio, and computer terminal. Receives phone calls and/or radio calls from outside callers and the local emergency dispatch center and is expected to dispatch the appropriate unit based on nature of the request. Keeps track of the status and location of all EMS personnel and vehicles. Transmits messages and information to units responding to calls. Receives and disseminates information from and to outside agencies and municipal departments to coordinate aid (i.e. Central Illinois Regional Dispatch Center, Christian County Dispatch, Shelby County Dispatch). Answers routine questions or refers calls to appropriate internal departments. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience in emergency dispatching or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training-Required.
  • Techniques, procedures and methods used in the operations of a private communication center.
  • General knowledge of cities and locations of highways and main streets.
  • Effective interpersonal communication methods and techniques.
  • Remain calm and effective under heavy workloads and in emergency situations.
  • Obtain and act on information quickly and accurately in emergency situations.

Medical Lab Scientist/Technician | Lab | Full-time


POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs laboratory procedures according to established and approved protocols that require the limited exercise of independent judgment and interpretation. Tests are performed with the technical supervision of a clinical laboratory scientist/medical technologist, manager, or laboratory director. May perform laboratory procedures across the major areas of the laboratory, or concentrate activity in one area such as blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, or histology.
Responsibilities may include: follows established procedures for collecting and processing biological specimens for analysis; performs chemical, microbiologic, immunologic, hematologic and immuno-hematologic laboratory procedures that require limited independent judgment; recognizes unexpected results and instrument malfunction and takes appropriate action; provides laboratory information to authorized sources; demonstrates laboratory technical skills to other laboratory colleagues.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associates-Required
  • Associates degree and completion of an NAACLS accredited medical laboratory technician program OR
  • Associates degree and at least 60 academic credit hours including 6 hours chemistry and 6 hours biology and successful completion of a 50-week US military medical laboratory training course. OR
  • Associates degree and at least 60 academic credit hours including 6 hours chemistry and 6 hours biology and 3 years full time lab experience in an accredited laboratory within the last 10 years.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations: 
  • Medical Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist or eligibility for certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency such as ASCP, NCA, AMT, HEW or other laboratory certifying agency is required. Certification must be received within 90 days of hire.
  • Physician Practice - Certificates, Licenses & Registrations Requirements: MLT certification preferred.
